Terms and Conditions for Food Orders

Additions or alterations to catering orders must be made at least 7 days prior to the event.

All food allergies must be discussed at the time of ordering. Teapots and Treats will supply a food allergy list for each menu item upon request but the decision on which food is ordered is at the discretion of the customer.

Once the food products have been delivered clear instructions on how to keep the items will be provided, any dairy products will require immediate refrigeration and must be consumed within 3½ hours of being served.

Crockery will be delivered at the same time as the catering. 


Collection will be made the following day or as per prior arrangement. 

Delivery is free within an 8-mile radius of Darrington. A 45p per mile charge will be applied after this. 


Crockery Hire

To hire crockery simply contact us with your requirements and we can confirm the total hire price and delivery collection dates and times.  Quotations are subject to availability and will be valid for 14 days from issue.

Terms and Conditions For Crockery Hire


The hire period is for 1 – 4 days, (eg delivered on a Friday to be collected on a Monday).

Additions to orders on hire items can be made up to 7 days prior to agreed delivery date subject to stock availability.

Delivery and Collection

Delivery is free within a 8 mile radius of Darrington. A 45p per mile charge will be applied after this.

All items will be dispatched clean and ready to use in strong, stackable plastic boxes, any issues around this must be flagged during the inventory inspection between Teapots and Treats and the Hirer.

On delivery an inventory of all items will be included, this must be checked off and signed for on the day of delivery with a copy left with the hirer and a copy with Teapots and Treats.

On collection the inventory and condition of all items will be checked by Teapots and Treats and the hirer and copies signed to agree the condition upon return.

Care of Hire Items

Due to the delicate nature of the crockery we request that all items hired are handled with great care at all times.

Once items have been delivered and handed over they are the full responsibility of the named hirer, anything left unattended is done so at the hirer’s own risk and the hirer will be responsible for any breakages or damage to the items.

Please rinse all items with warm water and a mild detergent. We will ensure all items are properly washed upon return.

Please DO NOT:

  • place any item in the dishwasher
  • use scourers or excessive scrubbing to the crockery
  • store the hired items where they are at risk of being damaged
  • over-stack items or containers

Crockery and accessories should be packed and replaced in the same way that they were delivered.

Breakages and Losses

The hirer is responsible for the items at all times once they have been signed over by Teapots and Treats and until they have been collected and checked. Any loss or damage should be reported upon return.

All items will be checked off against the agreed and signed inventory left when delivered.

A breakage/loss deposit (to be arranged between Teapots and Treats and the hirer at the time of order) is required to be paid in full 7 days prior to delivery, this deposit will be returned (less charges if applicable) no later than 7 days after items have been returned.

The following amounts will be deducted from the deposit for each item returned damaged:


v Teapot (including lid) £25

v Milk jug £5

v Sugar bowl £5

v Teacup £2

v Saucer £1

v Side plate £1

v Cutlery £1 per item

v One tier cake stand £15

v Two tier cake stand £15

v Three tier cake stand £20


Teapots and Treats will inform the hirer within 3 days of any breakage charges.


All orders require a 25% deposit.  If orders are cancelled within 7 days of the delivery date, this will not be refunded. 

Full payment must be cleared a minimum of 7 days prior to the delivery date, this includes the breakage/loss deposit.

By paying a deposit, it will be taken that you have agreed to our terms and conditions.


Payments can be made by bank transfer, cheque or cash.
